Amy

I fell in love with the West Coast, especially Whistler, when I left Calgary for university on Vancouver Island. I consider the Coast Mountains home now, and regularly explore the beautiful places that British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon have to offer. I tried to be an art historian for a while but soon realized I'd rather be playing outside in the snowy mountains than unearthing ancient treasures, so I decided to become a photojournalist.

As a photojournalist, it is important to use images and words to make a difference. This adventure is the perfect opportunity for me to use photography and writing to draw attention to young adults affected by cancer and increase support for them. I am so excited to meet the participants and capture everyone's spirit, and passion for adventure, as we kayak the Owyhee River.

Our Mission

To help young adult survivors of severe illness or injury identify, process and apply life lessons through adventure activities.
