Spend 8 days kayaking 72 km of Class III rapids through incredible painted canyons. The beautiful scenery, swift rapids, amazing slot canyons, hot springs and wildlife of the Lower Owyhee River makes it one of the most diverse and inspiring rivers in the USA… almost as inspiring as the survivor stories shared each night.
This trip is open to any young adult cancer survivors diagnosed and currently between the ages of 18 and 39ish. The exact date of the 2012 expedition is June 14th – 22nd. The cost of the trip is $660 (retail the trip costs about $1500!!). However, we do not want cost to be a barrier and can help you raise funds if you need to. A survivor may bring one close supporter who has been with them throughout cancer journey. Each participant is responsible for their travel to and from Boise, ID. All the medical and information forms are available for download here. Enrollment is done on a first come, first serve basis, but due to the remoteness and physicality of the expedition, medical forms will be thoroughly reviewed and a doctors consent must be given before the survivor is accepted to come on the trip. Having said that, we believe most survivors are capable of much more then they may think they are and encourage everyone to apply… if you have the will, we will find the way!!
