Spend 6 full days cruising through the Discovery Islands and Desolation Sound, exploring remote coves, secluded lakes, and intriguing shore lines. The adventure includes basic navigation, camping ashore each night, hiking to lakes, rivers and waterfalls for a swim, seeing whales, porpoises, seals and other wildlife, cliff jumping, sun-tanning, gourmet food … and sharing incredible stories and wisdom each night around the campfire.

This trip is open to any young adult cancer survivors diagnosed and currently between the ages of 18 and 39ish. The exact dates are September 1-8th, 2012. The cost of the trip is $450 (for a week of sailing!?!) but we do not want cost to be a barrier and can help you fundraise. A survivor may bring one close supporter who has been with them throughout cancer journey. Each participant is responsible for their travel to and from the Nanaimo Airport on Vancouver Island. Enrollment is done on a first come, first serve basis, but due to the remoteness and physicality of the expedition, medical forms will be thoroughly reviewed and a doctors consent must be given before the survivor is accepted to come on the trip. Having said that, this trip is less physically demanding and designed for survivors who are looking for an adventure but may not have the physical ability to accomplish the Owyhee River or Grand Canyon Expeditions. We believe most survivors are capable of much more then they may think they are and encourage everyone to apply… if you have the will, we will find the way!!
