Spend 3.5 days in a private cabin on the Icefields Parkway in Banff, AB while learning all about being a Survive & Thrive Weekend Hangout facilitator. The stunning scenery will be our backdrop as we explore all the in’s and out’s of planning and facilitating 2-day Weekend Hangout retreats with other young adult cancer survivors. By the end of this trip, you will have a solid understanding of what is necessary to provide young adult cancer survivors with a weekend of relaxation, fun, and meaningful connections. As this is a leadership training program, only participants who wish to become a Survive & Thrive Weekend Hangout facilitator can attend this trip. It is expected that in the two years after attending this trip you will attend at least two Weekend Hangouts as a “co-facilitator” (year 1) and two Weekend Hangouts as the “Lead Facilitator” (year 2). Limited spots are available and an extensive application and pre-interview will be required. There are limited spots available for the Weekend Hangout Retreat Facilitator Training program and applying will be a competitive process. Not every person who applies will be able to participate.
